Day 2: Celebrating the Summer Solstice the Coors way

It's the first day of summer, and we had a busy day planned. As we were laying around the apartment in the morning, we came across the realization that the town of Golden, which is home to the largest brewing house in THE WORLD was a mere fifteen minutes away. Seeing that it was 9 am on the first day of summer, what better way to celebrate with a tour of the Coors brewery and plenty of free beer! We frantically collected our things, guzzled our chunky green drinks (healthy morning smoothies full of fruits and veggies made especially for us by Jake), and battled Denver traffic to be among the first in line for the Coors Brewery Tour. There were plenty of people in line, but obvi
ously we were the most enthusiastic. The tour was about 30 minutes long, and very impressive. At the end of the tour, we each got 3 free beers, and we took some time to enjoy the rest of the brewery.

Next, we headed to Boulder. This town was full of artsy places, good places to eat, plenty of bums, and horrible magicians. This one particular magician claimed he could
flip a cut-out card into the air, and catch it on his dirty greased mustache. With a killer crowd of about 11 people, he tried over and over again continuing to fail, until he simply placed the card on his stache, and demanded an applause. He definitely made our day. It began to rain for a bit while we were browsing, so we sat down for lunch at the BJ pub. After a few more hours of spending money on unnecessary things, we left Pearl Street, and visited the Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse. The building was beautiful, and offered over fifty different types of teas. It was a perfect afternoon, so we strolled around the park and down to the raging creek as we enjoyed our chai teas. It was so nice to see so many people biking, walking, or laying in the grass to enjoy the beautiful weather. Here we witnessed a lovely fight between an intoxicated couple. I mean, what could you possibly be so upset about that would cause you to spit in someone's face and throw their PBR tall boy to the ground in fury. Ohhh Boulder, you're full of surprises!

Bye for now!

  2. haha your street performer reminds me of a store clerk at an airport I encountered once with Ashley... he was standing in front of a kids keyboard and asked us to name a song for him to play. We didn't respond and he said alright, how about the Peanuts theme song? and then failed miserably at it LOL
